Abstract

This study investigates the impact of digital transformation on the operational efficiency of small enterprises in Maraba, Karu Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, Nigeria. The research explores the extent to which digital tools such as mobile payment platforms, e-commerce channels, social media marketing, and cloud-based applications contribute to improved efficiency outcomes
among Small Enterprises. A descriptive survey design was employed, and data were collected through structured questionnaires distributed to 150 Small enterprises owners and employees. The responses of 145 valid questionnaires (96.7% response rate) were analyzed using descriptive statistics and multiple regression analysis via software SPSS. The findings reveal a significant positive
relationship between the adoption of digital tools and business efficiency. The study concludes that while digital tools have a notable impact on enhancing Small enterprises performance, issues such as poor infrastructure, limited technical skills, and high technology costs remain key barriers. It recommends targeted interventions by government and private stakeholders to enhance digital
literacy, provide affordable digital tools such as POS machines and cloud software, and promote an enabling environment that supports the seamless adoption of mobile payment platforms, e-commerce, social media marketing, and cloud-based solutions among small enterprises in Maraba.
