Abstract

The paper explains social media networking in library operations and how information can be disseminated via various media. It is important for library users to be exposed to the use of social networking tools to interact and share information. Users have the ability to email comments and attachments to other users, make use of bulletin boards to post content and also read or post information or comments to various servers in order to accomplish their tasks. Now a days everyone is connected with each other by means of various social networks like Zoom, Pinterest, Instagram, WhatsApp, Orkut, Google, Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, etc. This has become an effective means to share knowledge and skills between the users and library professionals. From the traditional searching process for books in the library, the interactive usage of social networking can now be addressed as part of the library system. Social Networking sites are one of the new technologies offering libraries the opportunity to reach out to its clients t limitation. This paper will expose users to new method of information dissemination and to make teaching and learning more interesting.
